I love making homemade gifts for Mother’s Day. This cute box is perfect for a variety of little treats for mom. You could fill it with some cookies, chocolate or a cupcake like I did.
I used my Cricut Maker to make this box, but you can also use your Cricut Explore machine. I have both, but prefer using my scoring wheel to make score lines on my projects.
This post is part of a round up of Mother’s Day gifts you can make with your Cricut machine. Thank you to the hosts! Make sure to click the picture below to visit their websites.
Don’t have a Cricut? Well, guess what? You could win a pair of Cricut Explore Air 2s (one for you and one for your mom!)

DIY Gift Box Materials:
Cricut Maker
Cricut LightGrip Mat
Cricut Scoring Wheel
Cricut Fine Tip Blade (comes with Machine)
Cricut Deluxe paper (I used the Sherbet variety )
Cricut Clear Acetate **I found the clear at JOANN. Only the foil is available at Cricut online)
Scrapbook adhesive glue
Instructions:
Open the Design Space file HERE for this exact “Mom” box. Or you can search through the Design Space library for tons of different fun box patterns!
Follow the on screen prompts to make the box. Make sure you have your scoring wheel loaded if you are using your Maker or your Scoring stylus if you are using a Cricut Explore Machine.
Carefully fold all the score lines of your box. Glue on the acetate with your glue and fold the box, making sure to apply glue to the side tab.
Put your treat or cupcake in the box, fold up the top, and you have a perfect little gift box. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments below!

Love this box! However when I click to download the file it just takes me to a blank design space in Cricut. Can you help me access this particular file? Thanks so much in advance.
Hi! For some reason when I share Design Space links they will only open on a computer. Once you save it to your profile, it should open on the app.
I was able to view it on the computer, thanks for sharing this project. I can’t wait to make these.
Adorable box!! I love how the word Mom is front and center such a cute detail.
Jenny, I am unable to view project on my computer. When I click on open, it takes me to my projects page.
Could you tell me what I am doing wrong?
Thank you.
Hi Kathy, I went and double checked the link and it worked of me. A lot of designs I shared before they launched the offline Design Space seem not to be showing up for people. I’m not sure why 🙁 Maybe Cricut support could help?
Jenny,
Thank you for your quick response. I finally had to delete Cricut program and re-install. I have a feeling this will be the answer to a lot of issues until they have a chance to fix all the bugs.
Thank you for the wonderful file!
