CRICUT INFUSIBLE INK TIPS

Use a New Fine Tip Blade for your Cricut Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets

This tip isn’t a necessity, but I found after I switched to a new blade that my Infusible Ink transfer sheets cut so much better! I now keep a dedicated blade just for Infusible Ink transfer sheets. If you feel like you are not getting as smooth as a cut as you would like, try putting in a new blade.

Weed Your Cricut Infusible Ink Design Immediately Before Application

I have learned this tip the hard way after lots of Infusible Ink applications. You do not want dust to collect on your transfer sheet or you’ll end up with spots on your final design. This is why it is important to lint roll your material or wipe it with a lint free cloth. But it’s also important not to weed your design too early and then leave it to collect dust particles.

Weed your Cricut Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets Gently

It’s very easy to slightly rub or scratch off the ink on the Infusible Ink transfer sheets with your hands. This can lead to a faded looking spot on your final design. Make sure your hands are clean and dry. Treat the sheets delicately when weeding them. Sometimes I have accidentally scratched off some of the ink when I’m not being careful.

Press your Cricut Infusible Ink Design Only Once

You’ll want to use the Slice tool in Cricut Design Space and layer your design to avoid pressing it more than once with your press. I love using multiple colors, but if you do multiple presses it can lead to a faded design. Slicing your image and layering it together by hand allows you to press it only once and get a great design. This rainbow design is multiple colors that were pressed at one time.

Use a Good Heat Press for Cricut Infusible Ink Transfer

Infusible Ink is transferred by heat into the material so you will need a good heat source like a heat press or EasyPress to transfer it. An iron usually doesn’t get hot enough to transfer your design as perfectly as you will want it.

Tassel Directions

Wrap the thread around your cardboard piece until you are satisfied with your tassel thickness. I used rather thin thread so I think I wrapped each one about 100 times. Remember your tassel will be the thickness of the thread on both the front and the back of the cardboard.

Cut a piece of thread about 12 inches long and tie your tassel together while its still on the cardboard. Carefully slip it off the cardboard and cut the tassel at the opposite end of your tie.

Cut another piece of thread 18 inches long. Tie into a knot where you want your tassel “head” to be. Wrap the thread around your tassel 10-12 times and tie off. Repeat steps for each tassel.

I chose to sew my tassels on the pillow but another option is fabric glue if you don’t sew. To attach I used the thread at the top of the tassel.

Now your rainbow pillow is complete! I hope it makes you as happy as it made me! Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below!
