I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I attended the Cricut Mountain Make-a-thon. At the event, Cricut unveiled their newest machine, the Cricut Maker, at the conference. I’ve enjoyed using my Maker for a variety of projects. I love that it can cut so many different kinds of materials. It’s a no-brainer that the Cricut Maker is the first thing on my list of favorite Cricut products
- Cricut Maker
The Cricut Maker features the Adaptive Tool System with its expandable suite of tools, which include the knife blade, rotary blade and scoring wheel (available soon!) I love all the things this machine can do. It’s really opened a whole variety of projects that I probably wouldn’t have necessarily tried before. - Cricut Rotary Blade
Cutting fabric without a backing has been a game changer! I’ve cut a variety of fabrics including delicate tulle, thick felt, and cotton fabric. There are over 500 digital sewing patterns and quilt blocks available from Simplicity® and Riley Blake™ loaded into Design Space. You can purchase these patterns and have the Maker cut out your fabric quickly and easily! There is even a Cricut Washable Fabric Pen that can be installed in the Maker that will mark your patterns for you. I am excited to make a quilt in the future because the hard work of cutting out all the pieces will be a breeze with my Maker. - Cricut Knife Blade
The Cricut Knife Blade was released a few months ago and I was so excited to try it. Designed with a steeply angled edge, it can easily slice through thicker, denser materials up to 2.4 mm thick. This opens up a wide variety of projects including puzzles, wooden signs, and leather accessories. - Cricut Chipboard
Speaking of thicker materials, I love the sheets of Cricut Chipboard. The sheets are already sized for your machine and made from high-grade material for all your crafty projects.
I cut out the word “hello” to add to my front door wreath. (You can open my design HERE.)
You could also use the chipboard to make:
-cake and cupcake stands
-puzzles
-3D figures
-signs - Cricut EasyPress
The Cricut EasyPress is one of my other favorite things. It was also revealed at the Make-a-thon last year. Iron-on is one of my favorite materials, as well as one of the most popular products, to cut with the Cricut. It is a breeze to adhere it to shirts, totes, and more.
Some projects that use iron-on:
-beach towels
-workout clothes
-team shirts
-family reunion shirts
-tote bags
-baby bodysuits
-quilts
-pillow covers
-cloth shoes
-hats
-aprons
-dish towels - Cricut Iron-on
I love all the varieties of Cricut Iron-on. There is Patterned Iron-on, SportFlex Iron-on, Foil Iron-on, Holographic Sparkle Iron-on, Glitter Iron-on and Iron-on Lite. Seriously, that’s a lot of iron-on! There are even Iron-on Designs which are ready to use. I used gold foil iron-on to make the pillow above and I love how shiny it is. - Cricut Faux Leather
Cricut Faux Leather is another awesome material to cut. I have enjoyed making a few projects with it, but these faux leather earrings are my favorite! There are lots of fun colors to choose from. I added Cricut Iron-on to make them really stand out!
Some other projects with faux leather include:
-baby shoes
-pillow cases
-baby mobiles
-tassles
-bracelets
-necklaces
-zipper pulls
-baby hair bows
-home decor - Cricut Adhesive Foil
I think Cricut Adhesive Foil is one material that doesn’t get as much recognition as it deserves. It comes in metallic, matte and stainless varieties. I recently upgraded my pantry door and used Cricut Adhesive Foil for my lettering. Didn’t it turn out so pretty?
Some ideas for Cricut Adhesive Foil projects are:
-wall art
-glass designs
-balloon decals
-furniture decals
-signs
-jar labels - Cricut Designer Fabric Packs
The Cricut Designer Fabric packs are awesome because they are already cut to 12 inches wide and come in a variety pack of coordinating colors. I love the fun designs. I made this cute cosmetic bag with some of the fabrics.
Some other ideas for the Cricut fabric include:
-fabric pennant banners
-doll clothes
-pillow covers
-custom tote bags
-stuffed animals - Cricut Permanent VinylCricut just recently released their Cricut Premium Permanent Vinyl. It’s water and UV-resistant and lasts up to three years, even in the outdoors! I was excited to use it on a mug to make this cute design. (You can open up the design HERE.)
Other project ideas you can make with Cricut Premium Permanent Vinyl are:
-planters
-outdoor toys
-phone cases
-glasses
-wood signs
-coasters
-pantry labels
-table numbers
