I picked up this cute “Hello Fall” sign from my local JOANN store and wanted to add some fall color to it with felt flowers. It is super easy to cut out felt flowers with the Cricut Maker.

Last weekend we took a trip up the mountains to see all the vibrant fall leaves. They were so amazing! I love fall colors and wanted to add some to my kitchen shelves.

My local JOANN store has a great fall felt color selection. I was eager to make something with those oranges and reds and when I found this darling “hello fall” sign, I thought it would be perfect with some felt flowers.

Now, you could cut out the felt by hand, but I love that my Cricut Maker cuts out felt with ease. The rotary blade can cut anything from delicate fabrics, to felt, to even thicker materials.

I’ve included my Design Space link so you can make these exact flowers. Or, of course, just use them as a guide and cut out your own flower designs either by hand or with your Cricut Maker.

Supplies for Hello Fall Sign with Felt Flowers:

Felt in Goldenrod, ruby, pumpkin spice, olive and sandstone (note this link is a 12 pack but you can buy individual colors in store) Felt
Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
Cricut Maker
Cricut Rotary Blade (Comes with the Maker)

Instructions:

Open up the Design Space file for the flowers and cut out the leaves and petals. Use your brayer to make sure your felt is attached to your mat really well.

See how perfectly the rotary blade cuts out the felt? I love this machine!

Once you have everything cut out, it’s time to assemble your flowers.

For the rolled flower, simply start at one end and tightly roll, then secure the middle tab to the back with hot glue. You can also place a few dots of hot glue on the flower as you roll it to keep it together.

The rolled rose is also the same to assemble. Simply roll it up, and secure the end tab with hot glue.

For the large orange flower, cross over the bottoms of the petals at the slit and secure with hot glue. Once you have all your petals glued, its time for the center.

Cut a rectangle piece of felt about 3 inches long by an inch wide. Fold in half and cut slits all along the length. Use the hot glue to roll around your center pom pom. Once your center is complete, start with the smallest petals and attach them around the center, finishing with the largest petals on the outside.

For the small yellow flowers:

Fold both sides of the tiny circle together to form a bud. Glue the other circles around the outside and secure with hot glue.

For the tiny red flowers:

Start with a rectangle center that has been cut with slits and roll up. Glue the red petals around the outside with hot glue.

To assemble the sign:

Arrange your flowers on the sign and decide on placement. Then use your hot glue to glue on the leaves first and then the flowers. To add some dimension fold the leaves in half and place a small dot of glue in the center to secure.
